The design Process

A Thoughtful, Guided Approach to Creating Sacred Spaces

Designing a home is both an emotional and practical journey. My process is intentionally structured to create clarity, ease, and alignment—so you feel supported from the first conversation through the final details.

Each step builds upon the next, allowing space for exploration while ensuring decisions are made with purpose. The result is a home that feels cohesive, meaningful, and beautifully resolved.

Our Process

1

Discovery & Intention Setting

Every project begins with listening.

This initial phase is dedicated to understanding you—how you live, how you move through your home, what matters most, and how you want your space to support your life. We explore lifestyle, values, preferences, and long-term goals, creating a clear foundation for the design.

This step establishes:

  • Design intentions and priorities

  • Functional needs and spatial considerations

  • A shared vision for how the home should feel

Intentional design begins here.

2

Collaboration & Documentation

Thoughtful execution requires clear communication.

I collaborate closely with architects, builders, and trades to ensure the design intent is fully understood and carried through. Detailed drawings, specifications, and selections are prepared to support a smooth build or renovation process.

This step ensures:

  • Alignment across the project team

  • Clarity in design documentation

  • Confidence during construction and installation

Precision here protects the integrity of the design.

5

Implementation & Oversight

As the project moves into execution, I remain actively involved.

I provide ongoing guidance and oversight, addressing questions, reviewing progress, and ensuring that design decisions are implemented as intended. This allows you to move through the process with confidence, knowing the details are being handled with care.

My role during this phase is to:

  • Maintain continuity and cohesion

  • Maintain Communication with the Contractors & Trades

  • Support decision-making as needed

  • Advocate for the design vision

This is where intention becomes reality.

Vision & Concept Development

With a strong foundation in place, the design vision begins to take form.

I translate our discovery into a cohesive concept that guides the entire project. This includes spatial planning, preliminary layouts, and an overall design direction that aligns aesthetics with function and feeling.

At this stage, we focus on:

  • Space planning and flow

  • Overall aesthetic direction

  • Initial material and color considerations

This vision becomes the compass for all future decisions.

3

Design Refinement & Material Selection

Once the overarching vision is established, we move into refinement.

Materials, finishes, and details are carefully selected and layered to create depth, balance, and harmony. Each choice is evaluated not only for beauty, but for longevity, usability, and how it contributes to the emotional experience of the space.

This phase may include:

  • Detailed material and finish selections

  • Color palettes and surface coordination

  • Custom furnishings and built-in concepts

  • Lighting and architectural detailing

The design deepens, and the home begins to fully reveal itself.
